Stay-Worthy Modern Interior Design Styles You Will Want To Know!

Urbanology Designs is not out to follow trends. We crave the unique, the unexpected, the moments that create a new experience. Design trends come and go; they speak to the collective tastes for a time, but tastes change, and so do the styles getting attention. Because our focus is on the individual client, their home, their lifestyle, their preferences, we create styles steeped in story, reason, and feelings. Over the years, we have seen what is stay-worthy, beyond a trend, what is rooted deep within how we want to experience our homes. The passion we lead with to uncover and elevate every corner of every space we touch leads to design-forward styles.

Experiencing your home in new, elevated ways is not simply the culmination of paint color and furnishings. It is the intentional results of story, each piece presenting a moment, a pause, an experience. From this lens, we believe certain design styles support this intention and invite creativity for interiors that break free of what’s typical or status quo.

Relaxed Modern

A beautiful interior without story is a melody without lyrics, a vase without flowers. We believe anyone can create a modern style for a room but layering our lives' stories into that same space takes an experienced hand. Over the years, and with several awards to confirm, this style has captured our heart’s desire to deliver spaces for our clients that are uniquely theirs, full of story and invitation to be swept away. This style is elevated and sophisticated yet relaxed in comparison to a straight or ultra-modern space. The color palette is warmer and softer as well you will see contrasting color schemes layered throughout.

Organic Modern

A close sister to Relaxed Modern, this style is a subtle departure from traditional modern, emphasizing organic materials and nature-centric elements. It dances in the fields of natural hues, wood tones and livable function yet stays anchored in the modern aesthetics of clean, crisp lines and a simple, neutral color palette. Earthy influences and softness highlight the beauty of the organic, the worn, the patina, the natural.

California Casual

Breathed to life from the dramatic, cool coasts of California. It's light and airy, organic, and cozy. Natural light is centrally invited to cascade through the room and awaken neutral, soft colors, wood tones, and wool or cotton textiles. Traditional Modern

It is a borderline style where the industrial feels of modern design are softened and refreshed by the curves and comfort of traditional pieces and elements. It is a cohesive mix of the new with the familiar, a popular style for its ability to blend comfort and warmth with the clean, engineered looks and lines of modernism.

Cozy Minimalist

Pure minimalism can feel too cold for most. But its spirit can be a comforting and grounding vibe with its strength of clean, uncluttered living. Embracing and enjoying negative space as a design element, it’s the joy of what’s not there, the invitation to breathe and feel space to daydream. Following minimalism but with the conventions of cozy, warm, inviting design elements, less is more with this style, and every piece and choice is judiciously selected. There’s not something on every wall, but what is within these spaces will be worth attention and likely full of story.

Relaxed Chic

Elegant, polished, and modern but with a fashion-forward feel. It’s where accessories are the necessities. Fashionistas are at home in this style with its palette connected to their fashion sense. Modern Parisian

Parisian style and inspiration continue to create what we love to call stay-worthy designs. Modern Parisian is a decorative twist to modern minimalism that is unmistakably French. It is fresh, ornate elements of plasterwork, ceiling medallions, gilded mirrors, and art frames flawlessly arranged within clean, modern lines. Much like Relaxed Chic but is layered with European vibes and Parisian influence.

Avant-Garde

Edgy and takes you by surprise in a good way. This style is fearless and boldly breaks the rules while sculpting the entirety of the spaces around it into a work of art. Innovative and evocative, avant-garde trades the status quo for the daring and experimental. This style easily plays within Cozy Eclectic but is a favorite design element for us within any style. An ever-evolving, ever-challenging style, it beckons imagination and creates beauty around the stories within your home.

Cozy Eclectic

Coziness guides and informs this broad and flexible style. Eclectic is a wide net by design, but focusing on how it can invite and inspire your senses will welcome in what is also comfortable and cozy. This is a style to have fun with; it’s warm, whimsical vibes throughout, a quirky break-away from the stricter sides of modern design. It isn’t necessarily bohemian and certainly not kitsch, but is an elevated, high-interest layering of divergence.

+Whimsical, open-ended to influences

+Invites the artisanal and unique pieces

+Gallery walls with non-matching frames and art

Moody Indulgence

This style breaks away from neutrals and monochromatic looks so popular with our other design styles and embraces the drama and vibes of deep, rich color tones. Organic hues of nature like green, orange, and purple but with a muted twist of rust, plum, or olive. Nothing is too bright or distracting. Materials are plush and indulgent, with splashes of dark velvet, and darker wood tones. It’s indulgent without being too lavish or loud. It’s dramatic but dialed in to be inviting and unpretentious.
